Let’s be clear, Tenerife weather and
Tenerife Temperatures are pleasant and temperate throughout
the year. From late September to late May it is usually very
warm and even in the depths of the British winter in can be
positively hot. This period in Tenerife is regarded as being
the golf season. June, July, August and September can be very
hot and it is therefore a first choice for British summer holidays.
The pattern of Tenerife's weather is generally
very different between the North and the South of the Island.
Both parts of the island of course enjoy a warm climate. The
north of the island of Tenerife tends to have much more rain
than the south. The south is first choice for summer, winter
sun and golf holidays. Here, even when there is the odd wet
day, no one from the United Kingdom ever sees the need for
heating.
We are often asked to talk about this in
more detail. What is the weather like at Christmas and New
Year? Are there any bad months? Are there times when it is
too hot to play golf?
The weather in Tenerife at Christmas and
New Year is always very good and sometimes excellent. We have
known times when it is too hot to play golf at the height of
the day on Christmas day itself. When we have seen poor months
they have invariably been in November and February but even
then it would have been weather which we would have described
as being “excellent for golf” had we been in the
UK. Being straightforward the summer months from early June
to the end of September can be very, very warm if you want
to play serious golf. This not to say that you will not be
able to play golf at all – the very reverse. Provided
that you are willing to start your game early in the morning
or, perhaps, mid-afternoon there is no problem at all. A golf
buggy makes it even more enjoyable and you will find that it
is much less expensive than it would be in the height of the
traditional golf season.
